Israeli tech’s $750M week, a $1B exit and Big Tech’s AI bill

Hi Everyone,

Greetings from Los Angeles, the inspiration for this week’s image. President Trump’s announcement of an agreement for the complete disarmament of H***s could be welcome news, if it is genuinely implemented and enforced. The details remain uncertain, and Israel has already expressed reservations, but any credible step towards a demilitarised Gaza and lasting security for Israel deserves cautious hope.

Against that backdrop, Israeli tech delivered another remarkable week, with major developments across AI infrastructure, cybersecurity, physical AI and M&A, with over $750M raised by Israeli startups (not counting the $5 billion raised by Ilya Sutzkever for SSI) one billion dollar exit and 2 new funds announced. Not bad for the quiet weeks of the summer...

The headline numbers were exceptional: Israeli startups announced more than $750 million in new funding, led by Xsight Labs, Onyx Security and groundcover, while Cyera agreed to acquire Oasis Security for approximately $1 billion. The common thread is clear: capital is flowing towards the infrastructure required to deploy AI safely and reliably, chips, observability, context, identity, endpoints and governance.

A note from our partners, Hubspot for Startups

The startups outpacing everyone right now aren't bigger. They're just running smarter.

AI-native companies like Cursor and Mercor are already doing $3-4M+ revenue per employee -- numbers that make most legacy tech look slow. The difference isn't headcount, it's how they've built their GTM motion.

We wrote a practical guide for founders who want to get there: a clear framework for deploying agents across sales, marketing, and customer service without losing the human judgment where it counts.

The Next AI Opportunities Are the Problems AI Created

AI is making code, content, intelligence and product creation abundant. But every new abundance produces a new scarcity: understanding, trust, reliability, distribution and control. In other words, what AI made abundant, created scarcity in other areas, that's where the next big opportunities lie.

Chart of the week

Carta data shows that although the median gap between funding rounds remains around 18–24 months, the range is widening significantly. Some startups may need to survive 1,000 days, almost three years, without receiving new outside capital.

The Weekly Dispatch Top posts from this week Hi Everyone, This week brought another reminder that AI’s biggest opportunities—and risks, are moving beyond the model layer. As autonomous agents gain access to company systems, financial information and sensitive workflows, the ability to monitor what they do is becoming critical. Against that backdrop, Israeli tech announced at least $314 million in disclosed funding across cybersecurity, healthtech, fintech and enterprise AI. Zenity led the...

Israel leads in the number of unicorns

The Weekly Dispatch Top posts from this week This week’s dispatch captures a market moving in two directions at once. Israeli tech showed its enduring strength in cybersecurity, with three startups emerging from stealth after raising a combined $340 million. But the same week brought another painful wave of layoffs, including monday.com cutting 20% of its workforce. AI-driven automation is part of the story, but so is the unusually strong shekel, which is increasing dollar-denominated costs...

Why AI Companies Are Optimising the Wrong Metric

The Weekly Dispatch Top posts from this week I spent just over 48 hours in Israel this week. It was a whirlwind trip: speaking at GameIS, meeting founders, catching up with portfolio companies and hearing what they're seeing on the ground. The headlines were, unsurprisingly, dominated by politics. But once you step away from the news cycle, the entrepreneurial energy is unmistakable. That feeling was reinforced by Bank of America's latest AI report, which ranked Israel among the world's...
